Authors: Dr. Maya Vivek Gokhale , Shivajirao Ragad

Abstract: Skin illnesses like as Shitapitta Udarda and Kotha are described in Ayu.samhitas. In current science, these can be linked to Urticaria. Actually, they are three distinct ayu. samhitas diseases. The most common symptom of these illnesses is a burning feeling and itching all over the body. There are also skin outbreaks. Piper nigrum, or Marica, is particularly beneficial in Shitapitta Udarda Kotha. Marica, often known as BlackPepper, is a plant in the Piperaceae family. According to Ayurveda, the taste (rasa) of maica is Katu (pungent), the characteristics are rooksha (dry), and the potency is Hot (ushna). The after-digestion impact (Vipaka) is katu (pungent). Pipera nigrum, often known as Marica, is an abortifacient and an anthelmintic. It stimulates the skin. All of Marica's properties make it effective in skin disorders. Vol 1, No 2 (2022): Dadru's Gandhakadi Malahara: A Theoretical Analysis of Its Crucial Role

Author: Parvinder Singh

Abstract: A common skin condition called dadru is mentioned in Ayurvedic texts. A key idea in Ayurveda is Twak Sharir. According to the number of layers of skin, Twak Sharir has different types of Kushtha. Kushtha's Dadru variant primarily affects the fourth of the skin's six layers. According to recent research, local fungal or tinea infections, which can affect up to 15% of the population, are directly related to the clinical presentation of Dadru. As typical symptoms, Darshana and Prashana Pariksha can recognise excessive, acute itching and ring-shaped red patches. Those in charge include Shodhan, Shaman, and Bahirparimarjan Chikitsa. Lepa (topical applications) are common shamanic remedies that are recommended among them. Gandhakadi Malhar serves as the study's central text.

Vol 1, No 2 (2022): The Concept of Koshtha in Ayurveda and Its Role in Panchakarma

Authors: Omkar Katkar, Ashish Girahiya

Abstract: Life's science is ayurveda. The shodhana chikitsa includes the panchakarma procedure. Because a disease that is treated with shodhana therapy will never recur, shodhana chikitsa is preferable to shaman chikitsa. The Panchakarma assessment factors are Koshtha, Agni, and Bala. There are two ways to define the word "koshtha." The nature of the digestive tract or hollow body parts, known as koshtha, represents the movement of food and faeces in the alimentary canal as well as the elimination of stool. The most crucial Panchakarma procedure is koshtha shodan. For Panchakarma therapy, Koshtha assessment is crucial because the dosage of Shodhana drugs depends on the type of Koshtha. Samyak shodhan won't happen if Koshtha Assessment isn't done correctly.
