Abstract: The rapid expansion of IoT presents significant security challenges, as millions of devices interconnected on a network can become potential entry points for cyberattacks. The role of Information Technology (IT) in IoT cybersecurity is indispensable, as it provides the frameworks and tools necessary for securing IoT networks and devices. This paper examines the security risks associated with IoT systems, focusing on areas such as data privacy, authentication protocols, and network security. IT solutions, including encryption techniques, intrusion detection systems, and blockchain, are explored as potential safeguards for the growing number of connected devices. The research highlights the evolving nature of cybersecurity in IoT environments and the need for constant adaptation to new threats.

The increasing number of IoT devices introduces unprecedented complexity to securing interconnected systems. Each device, from smart home gadgets to industrial IoT systems, generates vast amounts of data, making it crucial to implement robust data protection strategies. Furthermore, the lack of standardized security protocols across IoT devices results in inconsistent
security measures, leaving certain devices more vulnerable to exploitation. The integration of IT tools such as machine learning and artificial intelligence can offer proactive solutions by predicting threats and responding to anomalies in real time. Moreover, blockchain’s decentralized nature holds promise for securing IoT transactions and providing tamper-proof records, especially in critical applications like healthcare and finance.

Vol 1, No 3 (2018): Survey Paper on Heart Attack Detection and Heart Beat Monitoring using Augmented Reality and IoT

Authors: N Madhusudan Nayak, Maruti M Kamat, Ashwini B.S, Raksha N Pai

Abstract: This paper is focused on implementing a heartbeat monitoring and heart attack detection system using Internet of things and Augmented Reality. These days we have an increased number of heart diseases including increased risk of heart attacks. The sensor is interfaced to a particle photon that allows checking heart rate readings and transmitting them over internet. The user may set the high as well as low levels of heart beat limit. After setting these limits, the system starts monitoring and as soon as patient heart beat goes above a certain limit, the system sends an alert to the controller and alerts the concerned user. Also, the system alerts for lower heartbeats. Whenever the user logs on for monitoring, the system also displays the live heartbeat of the patient in augmented view along with graphical representation of heart beats per minute and the same data is stored in the cloud and can be accessed by concerned users. Also, the system sends an alert for lower heart beats; the system displays the heart rate. Thus concerned ones monitor heart rate as well get an alert of heart attack of the patient immediately from anywhere and the person can be saved on time.

Authors: Prof. Janardhana Swamy G.B, Ivan S Dsouza, Akshata U Pawaskar, Shameem Banu M Savanur, Shivani U

Abstract: In medical field, Electronics industry is gaining to develop medical equipment at very high advanced level techniques. In the past pace of life it is difficult for people to be constantly available for their near once who might need them while they are suffering from any diseases or physical disorder. So constant monitoring of patients body parameter such as body temperature, pulse rate becomes difficult. Generally in ICU’ s nurse are taking care of patients health 24x7.So sometimes in absence of care taker it may happen that the health of the patient becomes abnormal or critical from normal condition. So to remove this condition we have proposed self monitoring system which continuously monitors/measures the health parameter of the patient and if any abnormal condition occurs, it directly sends a message to doctor mobile application. Due to this alert message, doctor can do the fast assessment of the patient’s health without wasting the time.
