Abstract: The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) into healthcare IT systems has brought significant advancements in patient care, operational efficiency, and cost reduction. IoT in healthcare involves a network of interconnected devices that collect, analyze, and transmit health data in real-time. This paper explores the various applications of IoT in healthcare, including remote patient monitoring, chronic disease management, telemedicine, medication management, and hospital operations. The benefits of IoT in healthcare, such as improved patient care, enhanced efficiency, personalized treatment, reduced healthcare costs, and increased patient engagement, are discussed. Additionally, the challenges associated with IoT in healthcare, including data security, interoperability, regulatory compliance, data management, and implementation costs, are examined. The future scope of IoT in healthcare is highlighted, emphasizing the potential of predictive analytics, AI and machine learning integration, smart hospitals, home healthcare, and global health initiatives. Despite the challenges, the promising advancements and ongoing technological developments indicate a transformative impact of IoT on the healthcare industry.
