Abstract: The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices with edge computing presents a promising solution for enhancing the performance of various applications, particularly in domains like smart agriculture. This paper presents a case study focused on optimizing edge computing resources to improve IoT performance in smart agriculture systems. The study investigates the design, implementation, and evaluation of a novel architecture that leverages edge computing capabilities to process data closer to its source, thereby reducing latency and bandwidth usage. Through extensive experimentation and analysis, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of IoT-based smart agriculture applications. Our findings highlight the importance of optimized resource allocation and edge analytics techniques in maximizing the benefits of IoT and edge computing integration.
