Ushering in a IoV Ecosystem for Blockchain-based Identity and Trust Supervision System

Authours: Rachna Sharma

Abstract: Over the last decade, there has been tremendous growth in both the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) from both academics and industry. Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are made up of a multitude of sensors, IoT devices, control units, gateways, and other components. As a result, the software of the various sensors and IoT devices must be updated to the most recent version by the Software Vendors. The purpose of this article is to offer a blockchain-based identity and trust management architecture for the IoV ecosystem, with the goal of providing secure software updates. The proposed framework is divided into two processes: identification and registration of ecosystem entities, and entity authentication, which is based on established W3C standards for defining verifiable credential presentation, verification, and revocation. In a case study, we demonstrate the viability of our strategy
