Computer Aided Tolerance Analysis for Press Tool Die Set to Improve the Process Control & Tolerance Allocation

Abstract: This paper describes a study for blanking tool, where tolerance analysis and tolerance allocation techniques were used to analyze the cause of poor product performance and determine new tolerance specifications and process settings. 1D stackup analysis were performed by CREO CETOL. In blanking or piercing operation punch and die should concentric for proper cutting. Paper describe the cumulative effect of tolerance during alignment of punch and die.
