Optimizing The Skies: CAM Applications In Aerospace For Precision And Productivity

Author:Kavita Joshi

Abstract:Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) has become a cornerstone in aerospace production, where precision, efficiency, and consistency are critical. This paper explores the current and emerging roles of CAM in the aerospace industry, focusing on the ways it enhances productivity, precision machining, and reduces production cycles. Modern aerospace components demand stringent tolerances and complex geometries, which are increasingly achieved through advanced CAM techniques. This paper also highlights recent innovations such as multi-axis machining, digital twin integration, and simulation-driven manufacturing. Further, it presents the future trajectory of CAM in aerospace, addressing challenges and opportunities for manufacturers to meet evolving global demands in defense and commercial aviation.
