Robotics And Automation For Flexible Manufacturing Lines

ABSTRACT:The increasing demand for customization and rapid product changes has led to the evolution of Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) integrated with robotics and automation. This paper explores the role of robotics and automation technologies in enhancing flexibility, productivity, and efficiency in manufacturing lines. Key aspects include robotic workstations, automated material handling, and intelligent control systems that allow seamless product transitions with minimal downtime. The study reviews recent advancements in industrial robots, programmable automation, and sensor integration within FMS. A comparative analysis of different robotic technologies applied to flexible manufacturing is presented in a tabular form. The paper concludes by discussing challenges, future trends, and the impact of Industry 4.0 on flexible automation systems.
