Abstract:Pre-diabetes, characterized by elevated blood glucose levels below the threshold for a diabetes diagnosis, is a critical stage in the progression towards type 2 diabetes. The Hispanic community faces a disproportionately high risk of pre-diabetes and subsequent diabetes. This paper aims to explore the unique challenges faced by the Hispanic community in preventing pre-diabetes and proposes a comprehensive approach to address this issue. By focusing on cultural competence, education, community engagement, and lifestyle modifications, we can develop effective strategies to prevent pre-diabetes and promote healthier lifestyles within the Hispanic community.
