Integration of Power Electronics in Renewable Energy Systems

Authors: Dr. Rakesh Sharma ,Dr. Neha Mehta

Abstract: The integration of power electronics in renewable energy systems plays a crucial role in improving efficiency, stability, and scalability. As global energy demands grow and the push for decarbonization intensifies, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind are increasingly being deployed. Power electronic devices serve as the backbone for controlling, converting, and managing the variable nature of these energy sources, ensuring their reliability for grid and standalone applications. This paper explores the design, role, and challenges of power electronics in renewable energy systems, covering control strategies, grid integration, and future trends. The study also highlights real-world applications and proposes future research directions to enable sustainable energy transitions.
