Exploring Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) for Next-Generation Wireless Networks

Authors:- Shrikant Pokharkar, Ajay Chaurasia, Aakash Kushwaha

Abstract:- Massive MIMO is a variation on conventional MIMO in which the base stations are furnished with a large number of antennas, generally a hundred or more. With the increased volume of data transmission, this massive number of antennas provides several benefits for wireless communication. Each antenna may serve several users at once, resulting in decreased power consumption and data rate amplification. Additionally, smaller and more concentrated beams are aimed at specific user devices near the cell boundary, increasing downlink signal quality. Using massive MIMO enhances network reliability, minimises noise effects, and lowers interference. The system's throughput increases as the number of individuals receiving service increases.

Keywords:- Base stations, Massive MIMO, 5G, MIMO-NOMA.
