Abstract: The modern educational system is built on the matter-based worldview, which holds that everything is nothing but matter. This upward-causation hypothesis has been a defining feature of the scientific revolution. This scientific approach to intellect growth and its practical applicability to current living is used in modern schooling centred on bread-earning. While intellectual sharpening is vital, over-sensitivity caused by this sharpening frequently leads to large imbalances and risks such as depression in teens. As a result, a comprehensive education system to handle these problems is essential. While science is advancing toward a consciousness-based paradigm (downward causation) with awareness as the originating state and matter as the end result of condensed consciousness, the educational system should likewise embrace this holistic foundation. Yoga, as a comprehensive living science, promotes whole personality development on physical, mental, emotional, and intellectual dimensions, all with a spiritual foundation. It has the potential to provide the requisite value system, character, and nation-building qualities. A research overview of this four-fold personality development and four-fold consciousness growth - civic sense, service enthusiasm, patriot awareness, and spiritual desire - has been given. Based on these studies, integrated yoga modules for teacher training have been established, and thousands of instructors have been educated throughout India to introduce yoga at the elementary, secondary, and high school levels. Integrated yoga modules appropriate to higher education levels are also being designed to provide students graduating from the education system with a whole education that includes not only bread-earning but also man-making, national-building, character-building, and value-based education.
