Abstract
Monitoring of partial discharges is an effective strategy for the maintenance of motors and other types of electrical devices. This is helpful for performing analysis and troubleshooting on standard production equipment. Early on, corrective actions are able to be taken, which allows for the avoidance of unscheduled closures. There are many different ways in which partial discharges might manifest themselves, and there are also many different ways to spot them. In this article, both electrical and non-electrical processes are broken down and discussed.
