Abstract: The global transportation and logistics sector is undergoing a significant transformation driven by emerging technologies. Among these, blockchain stands out for its potential to bring transparency, security, and efficiency to freight tracking and logistics operations. This paper explores the role of blockchain in addressing long-standing challenges in the logistics industry, including data inconsistency, lack of visibility, and fraud. Through a decentralized ledger system, blockchain enhances traceability, improves shipment tracking, and strengthens trust among stakeholders. This paper outlines the key features of blockchain, its application in logistics, real-world use cases, and implementation challenges. Furthermore, the integration of blockchain with other technologies like IoT and AI is discussed, showcasing how combined innovation can unlock new efficiencies in supply chains. The study concludes that while blockchain presents vast potential for revolutionizing logistics, its full benefits depend on industry-wide collaboration, regulatory support, and overcoming technical barriers.
