Abstract: Transportation is an essential service that allows people to connect with their communities, access employment, education, and healthcare, and participate in society. However, many populations face challenges in accessing safe and sustainable transportation options. These challenges can be due to a variety of factors, including poverty, disability, age, gender, and location.This paper discusses the challenges and opportunities related to transportation for vulnerable populations, and presents strategies for developing more equitable and sustainable transportation systems. The paper also provides recommendations for implementing and evaluating transportation equity programs.
