Abstract: The Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a systematic and structured approach to developing software while ensuring that security is integrated at every stage. With the growing number of cyber threats and the increasing complexity of software systems, traditional development models often fail to account for security risks. This paper explores the key principles, methodologies, and best practices in secure SDLC, emphasizing how security measures can be incorporated throughout the software development process. It presents a comprehensive analysis of the phases involved in a secure SDLC, such as planning, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Additionally, the paper highlights common security vulnerabilities and strategies to mitigate them. By ensuring security is embedded in each phase, software developers can significantly reduce the likelihood of security breaches, resulting in more resilient and secure software systems.
