ABSTRACT: Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks (SAGIN) represent a revolutionary paradigm in wireless communication that integrates satellite networks, highaltitude platforms (HAPs), and terrestrial networks to provide ubiquitous connectivity. High-altitude platforms, operating in the stratosphere, act as intermediate nodes between satellites and ground users, mitigating latency, enhancing coverage, and improving network resilience. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the physics and engineering principles underlying HAP deployment in SAGIN, discussing propagation characteristics, energy considerations, network architectures, and key challenges. The paper also explores potential applications, technological innovations, and future research directions, highlighting the transformative potential of SAGIN in 6G and beyond.

KEYWORDS: Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks, High-Altitude Platforms, Wireless Communications, Network Architecture, Propagation Physics, Stratospheric Connectivity.
