Abstract
The advent of Industry 4.0 has revolutionized manufacturing processes, giving rise to Quality 4.0—a paradigm shift in quality management that leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for intelligent, predictive, and real-time quality control. Traditional quality management practices relying on manual inspection and statistical process control are increasingly inadequate in handling complex, high-speed production environments. This review explores the integration of AI and ML into quality control systems, covering predictive quality, real-time defect detection, anomaly prediction, and process optimization. Furthermore, it discusses the technological enablers, challenges, and future directions for Quality 4.0, emphasizing how smart quality management can enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction.
