The Role of Sustainability in Contemporary Product Design: Integrating Eco-Friendly Materials, Manufacturing Processes, and Life Cycle Assessment for a Greener Future
Abstract
Sustainability has become an essential aspect of product design, influencing materials, manufacturing processes, and end-of-life disposal. This paper examines sustainable product design strategies, such as eco-friendly material selection, energy-efficient production, and recyclability. It discusses the role of life cycle assessment (LCA) in evaluating environmental impact and explores case studies of sustainable products that have achieved commercial success. Additionally, this paper addresses challenges, including cost barriers and consumer perception, and suggests future directions for sustainable innovation in product design.
