Lemierre's Syndrome

Abstract

Lemierre's syndrome is a very rare but potentially fatal condition characterized by suppurative thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein (inner vieins of neck region), often following the recent oropharyngeal infestation. It involves bacteraemia and can pave to septic emboli and metastatic infections.
