Advanced Nano-Coatings for Corrosion Protection in Mechanical Components: Applications of Tio? , Zno, and Graphene on Metal Surfaces

Aashish Varma

Abstract

Corrosion remains a critical challenge in the maintenance of mechanical components, especially those exposed to aggressive environments in automotive, aerospace, and pipeline systems. Recent advances in nanotechnology have enabled the development of nano-coatings that offer superior corrosion resistance. This paper explores the application of titanium dioxide (TiO? ), zinc oxide (ZnO), and graphene-based nano-coatings on metal substrates, examining their material properties, deposition techniques, performance evaluation, and long-term benefits. Comparative analysis of their effectiveness in different environmental conditions is provided. The study further outlines practical applications, challenges in scalability, and future directions in industrial deployment.

Keywords: Nano-coatings, corrosion protection, TiO? , ZnO, graphene, metal surfaces, automotive, aerospace, pipelines, nanomaterials, mechanical durability.
