Sustainability in Modern Machining: Challenges and Opportunities

 ABSTRACT: Sustainability is a key concern in modern machining and mechanical systems production. This paper explores the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable machining practices. With increasing pressure to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, industries are turning to more energy-efficient machining methods, recyclable materials, and sustainable production techniques. The paper discusses the environmental impact of traditional machining processes and compares them to more sustainable alternatives such as green machining and energy-efficient cutting technologies. Additionally, it highlights the role of industry regulations, consumer demand, and technological innovation in driving the transition to more sustainable machining practices.
