Abstract: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have become a vital component of modern organizations seeking integration, efficiency, and improved decisionmaking. Despite their strategic importance, ERP implementation remains a highly complex and challenging process. Many organizations invest heavily in ERP systems but fail to achieve expected outcomes due to technical, organizational, financial, and human-related challenges. This paper reviews major challenges faced during ERP implementation and analyzes factors contributing to implementation success or failure. It discusses issues such as resistance to change, inadequate planning, poor project management, data migration complexities, cost overruns, customization difficulties, vendor selection, and training limitations. The paper also highlights risk mitigation strategies and provides practical recommendations for managers and practitioners. Through literature review and conceptual discussion, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of ERP implementation challenges and offer guidance to organizations planning ERP adoption.
