Integration of Renewable Energy with Smart Grids
Abstract
ABSTRACT The rapid depletion of fossil fuels and increasing environmental issues have forced the world to move towards renewable energy sources. However, the integration of renewable energy such as solar, wind, biomass and small hydro into the conventional power grid presents several technical and operational challenges. Smart grid technology has emerged as a promising solution to overcome these challenges by incorporating communication, automation, and intelligent control into the power system. This paper presents a comprehensive review on integration of renewable energy with smart grids, discussing architecture, technologies, benefits, challenges and future trends. Various components like smart meters, energy storage, demand response, and advanced communication systems are explained in context of renewable integration. The paper also highlights the role of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and real-time monitoring in enhancing grid reliability and efficiency. Tables and figures are included to present comparative analysis and system overview.
