Abstract: Rasashastra, an integral part of Ayurveda, encompasses the intricate science of alchemy, focusing on the preparation of medicinal compounds using minerals, metals, and toxic substances. Despite its historical significance and potential therapeutic benefits, Rasashastra has received limited attention in contemporary medical discourse. This paper aims to revitalize interest in Rasashastra by providing a comprehensive overview of its principles, methodologies, and therapeutic applications. Drawing upon classical Ayurvedic texts, historical references, and modern research, we delve into the theoretical framework of Rasashastra, elucidate its unique pharmacological concepts, and explore its relevance in contemporary healthcare. Additionally, this paper discusses the challenges and controversies surrounding the use of metals and minerals in medicine, highlighting the need for further research and standardization. By bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science, this study seeks to foster a deeper understanding of Rasashastra's potential in promoting holistic health and well-being.
