Authors: Chandan Mathur, Raghav Tandon, Dr. P. R Senghal

Abstract: The ancient Indian system of medicine, Ayurveda, is based on the extensive utilization of medicinal plants for healing and wellness. Central to Ayurvedic pharmacy is the practice of Bhaishajya Kalpana, which involves the preparation of various medicinal formulations. However, the sustainable use of medicinal plant resources has become a growing concern in recent years due to overharvesting, habitat destruction, and climate change. This paper aims to explore the sustainability of medicinal plant resources within the context of Bhaishajya Kalpana. We delve into the historical significance of medicinal plants in Ayurveda, assess current challenges to their sustainability, and propose strategies for the responsible utilization of these invaluable resources.
