Herbal-Drug Interactions: Implications for Rasashastra and Modern Pharmacology

Authors: Radha Krishna, Kirpal Singh

Abstract: Rasashastra is an ancient Indian alchemical tradition that encompasses the preparation of metallic and mineral-based medicines. This traditional system, while having its roots in ancient texts, continues to be practiced in various forms in contemporary Ayurvedic medicine. However, the use of Rasashastra medicines in combination with modern pharmaceutical drugs can pose significant risks due to potential herbal-drug interactions. This paper explores the implications of herbal-drug interactions for Rasashastra and modern pharmacology, shedding light on the importance of understanding these interactions for patient safety and holistic healthcare.
