Abstract: The practice of surgery in Ayurveda, known as Shalya Tantra, has a rich history influenced by various factors, including philosophy, cultural practices, and the contributions of eminent scholars. This paper delves into the role of Vidhi Vaidyaka, a prominent figure in Ayurvedic surgical interventions, exploring his methodologies, techniques, and historical context. By examining ancient texts and historical accounts, the paper highlights the evolution of surgical practices in Ayurveda, the integration of traditional knowledge with practical skills, and the significance of Vidhi Vaidyaka’s contributions to contemporary surgical methods. Through a historical lens, the study aims to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern surgical practices, providing insights into the relevance of Ayurveda in contemporary healthcare.
