Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Advanced Manufacturing Systems

Abstract: Advanced manufacturing systems (AMS) are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. This paper explores the integration of AI in AMS, focusing on how machine learning (ML) algorithms, deep learning techniques, and AI-driven robotics contribute to automating complex manufacturing processes. We discuss the challenges of implementing AI, such as data quality and integration with legacy systems, and propose a framework for overcoming these obstacles. The paper also examines case studies where AI has been successfully applied in various manufacturing sectors, demonstrating improvements in predictive maintenance, quality control, and supply chain optimization. The potential for AI to revolutionize AMS by enabling real-time decision-making and adaptive manufacturing processes is significant, with implications for future technological advancements and economic growth.
