Abstract: With the rapid evolution of mobile applications, Android devices face significant challenges in resource management and battery consumption. Efficient utilization of CPU, memory, network, and power resources has become critical to enhance user experience and device longevity. This paper presents a comprehensive review of various resource and battery optimization techniques in Android, focusing on system-level, application-level, and hardware-assisted strategies. Key methodologies such as efficient threading, memory management, background service optimization, network usage reduction, and energy-aware algorithms are discussed. Furthermore, the paper explores the role of modern frameworks like WorkManager, JobScheduler, and foreground/background service handling for battery preservation. Through comparative analysis and practical illustrations, this study provides a holistic understanding of optimization practices that can be adopted by developers to create energy-efficient Android applications.
Keywords: Android, battery optimization, resource management, energy efficiency, background services, memory management, CPU utilization.
