Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a transformative technology, connecting billions of devices to improve automation, efficiency, and real-time decision-making. Android mobile applications serve as primary interfaces for controlling and monitoring IoT devices due to their widespread adoption and flexibility. However, integrating IoT with Android apps presents numerous technical and non-technical challenges, including device heterogeneity, communication protocols, security, and data management. This paper reviews the primary integration challenges, explores solutions, and highlights best practices for seamless IoT-Android app synergy. Additionally, it provides architectural insights, design strategies, and case studies to guide developers in building efficient, secure, and scalable mobile-IoT ecosystems.
