Abstract: Hybrid powertrains have become a pivotal technology in the automotive industry, offering a balanced approach to improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions without compromising vehicle performance. This paper delves into the optimization strategies employed in hybrid powertrains, focusing on energy management systems (EMS) and battery management systems (BMS). The paper also explores the challenges associated with optimizing these complex systems, including the integration of advanced control algorithms and the use of lightweight materials. Furthermore, future trends such as the development of machine learning-based adaptive controls and the integration of hybrid vehicles with smart grids are discussed. These advancements are expected to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of hybrid powertrains, contributing to the evolution of more environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
