Abstract: This paper investigates turbulence modeling techniques for aerodynamic design optimization of automotive vehicles. The behavior of fluids and gases in motion, particularly turbulence phenomena, significantly influences the aerodynamic performance of vehicles. Turbulence modeling plays a crucial role in accurately predicting flow characteristics around vehicles, which is essential for optimizing their aerodynamic design to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This study examines various turbulence modeling approaches and their applicability to automotive aerodynamics. Additionally, it explores the integration of turbulence modeling into the design optimization process to enhance vehicle aerodynamic performance. Through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and optimization algorithms, this research aims to provide insights into effective turbulence modeling strategies for optimizing the aerodynamic design of automotive vehicles.
