Abstract:-With modernization and increase in the number of automobiles worldwide, the consumption of gasoline has enormously increased. As petroleum is non renewable source of energy and the petroleum reserves are scarce nowadays, there is a need to search for alternative fuels for automobiles. Work has been done in using a lot of other fuels to be used in IC engines. Thus this work is an attempt for the use of LPG and Acetylene as alternative resources such that it can be useful for the people in near future. This paper represents an investigation on the performance of SI engine fuelled with LPG and Acetylene individually with petrol as an alternative fuel.
