Abstract:-Â Shape memory polymers (SMP) and SMP-based composites are examples of smart materials that may change from a fixed shape to their original structure in response to external stimuli. The shape memory effect is an inherent characteristic of polymers that varies depending on molecular weight and polymer components. They offer intrinsic benefits such as lightweight, large recoverable deformation capability, biocompatibility, and so forth. This research examines the current state of SMP nanocomposites and SMP filler composites in aerospace applications. We will talk about the materials and structures that could be used, as well as the general mechanism of SMPs and their composites, which have a lot of potential for new aerospace applications.
