Abstract

Breastfeeding is recognized as one of the most effective interventions for improving infant survival, promoting maternal health, and supporting long term child development. Pediatric nurses play a major role in educating mothers about breastfeeding practices, positioning techniques, nutritional benefits, and early breastfeeding initiation. Effective breastfeeding education delivered by pediatric nurses contributes significantly to increased exclusive breastfeeding rates, reduction in infant illnesses, and improvement in maternal confidence. This paper examines the effectiveness of breastfeeding education provided by pediatric nurses through evidence-based practices, counseling methods, communication strategies, and hospital-based interventions. The study also explores barriers faced by mothers during breastfeeding and the role of nurses in overcoming these challenges through continuous support and education. The paper highlights the importance of structured breastfeeding education programs in pediatric healthcare settings and emphasizes the need for professional training among nurses to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
