Abstract


Simulation-based learning (SBL) has emerged as a transformative approach in nursing education, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. With growing complexities in healthcare systems, patient safety concerns, and the need for evidence-based practices, simulation provides an effective environment for students to practice clinical skills without risk to real patients. This paper explores the role of simulation in nursing education, its effectiveness, challenges, and future directions. By integrating high-fidelity mannequins, virtual reality, standardized patients, and immersive clinical scenarios, SBL fosters critical thinking, enhances communication, and promotes reflective learning. The discussion emphasizes how simulation contributes to competency development, identifies barriers in its implementation, and highlights opportunities for advancing nursing pedagogy.
