Additive Manufacturing and Mechatronics: Bridging Technological Gaps

Authors: Sunita Patil, Mayank Agarwal

Abstract: Additive Manufacturing (AM) and Mechatronics are two transformative fields that, when integrated, have the potential to revolutionize industrial processes. AM, commonly referred to as 3D printing, enables the creation of complex structures layer by layer, while Mechatronics combines mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer science to develop automated systems. This paper explores the intersection of these technologies, highlighting their synergies, applications, and challenges. It discusses how this integration bridges technological gaps in design, manufacturing, and automation, enabling rapid prototyping, customized production, and enhanced operational efficiency. The paper concludes with insights into future trends and innovations in the combined domain of AM and Mechatronics.
