Additive Manufacturing Technologies and their Impact on Mechatronics

Author: Yugam Patel

Abstract: This paper discusses additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and their impact on mechatronics. Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, has gained significant attention in recent years for its ability to produce complex geometries, reduce material waste, and enable rapid prototyping. The paper provides an overview of various AM processes such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and Stereolithography (SLA) and their applications in mechatronic systems. It explores how AM is reshaping the design, production, and maintenance of mechatronic components, leading to innovations in product development and customization.

Keywords: Additive Manufacturing, Mechatronics, 3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, Product Development
