Abstract: Traceability in manufacturing systems has become increasingly critical for ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and supply chain transparency. Traditional traceability systems often face challenges such as centralized data storage, susceptibility to tampering, and limited interoperability. Blockchain technology, with its decentralized ledger, immutability, and transparency, offers a promising solution for enhancing traceability across manufacturing operations. This paper reviews the application of blockchain-enabled traceability in modern manufacturing systems, highlighting its architecture, implementation frameworks, benefits, and challenges. Additionally, we discuss case studies of blockchain adoption in the manufacturing industry and present future research directions.
