Integrated Modeling and Supervisory Energy Management of a PMSG-Based Storage Wind Energy System With Battery
Abstract
Wind power variability has the effect of introducing a persistent mismatch between for power generation and power demand, which is a fundamental challenge. For stand- alone and hybrid renewable energy systems. In this paper, an integrated dynamic model of a Wind energy using permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) conversion system with Li-ion battery energy storage and supervisory power man- agement. The model integrates wind turbine aerodynamics, tip-speed-ratio MPPT, dq axis PMSG dynamics, DC-link conversion, bidirectional Buck/Boost battery interfacing, a first order battery equivalent circuit capturing state-of-charge (SOC), open circuit voltage, transient behaviour of RC. A rule-based supervisory controller is used to coordinate battery charging. Charging, discharging, idle operation and SOC protection. Based on the instantaneous wind power balance, the wind energy surplus is calculated. Generation and demand, having SOC range between 20% and 80%. The system is tested under different wind-speed and load-demand profiles which utilize all major supervisory systems. Operating modes. Simulation results show that the DC-link is regulated in a stable manner, coordinated battery charge–discharge responses, and a during the game, the power deficit reduced to below 10 W due to the decrease in temperature. Battery-supported intervals. The framework that has been developed is a modular simulation platform To analyse the supervisory energy management in PMSG-based wind-battery systems.
