Abstract:Â Nipah Virus Infection Nipah Virus Infection (NiV) is a much relevant infectious disease of public health importance in the South-East Asia Regions. The specific virus is named after the Malaysian village where it was first discovered. Nipah virus along with Hendra virus encompasses a new genus which is designated Henipavirus in the subfamily Paramyxovirinae.
