Smart Power Distribution and the Future of Energy Storage in Renewable Grids
Abstract
The evolution of renewable energy integration has elevated the importance of energy storage as a critical component in smart power distribution networks. This paper explores the technological advancements in battery storage, pumped hydro, and emerging hydrogen-based storage systems that complement renewable energy deployment. Smart grids provide the digital intelligence required to optimize energy storage utilization, allowing for real-time charge and discharge cycles that stabilize fluctuating supply from solar and wind sources. The integration of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) systems further demonstrates how electric vehicles can become mobile energy reservoirs within smart power networks. Additionally, distributed storage solutions embedded within residential and industrial sectors enhance resilience against outages while improving power quality. This research underscores the critical synergy between smart power distribution and advanced energy storage, laying the foundation for a resilient renewable energy ecosystem.
