Abstract: Traditional medicinal plants have been used for centuries in various cultures around the world to treat and manage various diseases. These plants contain a diverse array of phytochemicals, which are natural bioactive compounds that contribute to their medicinal properties. This comprehensive review aims to summarize the current knowledge on the phytochemical composition and pharmacological potential of traditional medicinal plants. The review provides an overview of the methods used for phytochemical analysis, highlights the major classes of bioactive compounds found in these plants, and discusses their potential therapeutic applications. Additionally, the review explores the mechanisms of action and pharmacological effects of the identified bioactive compounds. This paper serves as a valuable resource for researchers and healthcare professionals interested in traditional medicine and natural product-based drug discovery.
