Vol 1, No 2 (2022): The Ayurvedic Approach to the Menopausal Transition
Authors: Aarti Mehra, Soni Gupta
Abstract: Menopausal transition, also known as perimenopause, is the period of the ageing process in which a woman goes from a reproductive to a non-reproductive stage. It is the time period between the late reproductive years, which is generally between the late 40s and the early 50s. It begins with irregular menstrual cycles and lasts for one year following menstruation cessation. Because of the progressive reduction of ovarian follicular activity, most women begin to experience a variety of physical, psychological, vasomotor, and urogenital symptoms long before they satisfy the criteria of menopause. Perimenopausal symptoms are quite severe for around 20% of women. The condition is referred to as rajakshaya in Ayurveda. According to traditional sources, "jara pakwa sareeranam yathi panchasata:kshayam" (regular menstrual flow progressively diminishes after the age of 50 years). 2 Rajas is regarded as the rasa3 or raktha4 upadhatu. 1 The usual amounts of dhatus are gradually depleted throughout the perimenopausal period, resulting in rajakshaya. As a result, it is classified as a Swabhavabala pravrutta vyadhi5 with jara or vardhakya symptoms. Agni mandya, pitta kshaya, vata aggravation, kapha medo dushti, and uttarothra dhatu kshaya occur during this period, resulting in rajakshaya. There is no clear account of perimenopausal symptoms in Ayurvedic texts. Various perimenopausal symptoms indicated in samhithas in the context of yonirogas can be seen. These symptoms can be bothersome at times and have a negative impact on one's quality of life. For the treatment of perimenopausal symptoms, Ayurveda has efficient techniques and herbal formulations. Rasayana, balya, dhatukrith, and rasa raktha prasadana should be used to deal with them and receive symptomatic relief. Treatment concepts based on Jwarasamaka or Santhapasamaka can be used. Lifestyle changes such as a balanced diet, exercise, and certain yogasanas and pranayama can help improve the quality of life throughout the menopausal transition.

Vol 1, No 1 (2022): A Research on Uterine Fibroids through Ayurvedic Approach
Authors: Mamta Soni, Deepika Chawla
Abstract: Uterine fibroids are the most prevalent solid benign tumours in women of reproductive age. Histological, this tumour is made up of smooth muscle and fibrous connective tissue and is known as uterine leiomyoma, myoma, or fibromyoma. Uterine fibroid symptoms have a detrimental influence on physical and social activities, women's health-related quality of life, and job productivity. Although postmenopausal leiomyomas are smaller and fewer in number.
Though uterine fibroids are not malignant, they can cause a variety of symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, and lower back pain. Ayurvedic literature discuss a variety of clinical disorders that resemble fibroids. Due of its muscular origin, sluggish development may be superior to Granthi/Arbud in Garbhashaya. In today's fast-paced world, junk food consumption, lack of exercise, and other factors have resulted in the establishment of Agnivaishamya and Aama. This, in turn, vitiates Doshas like Kapha and Vata, as well as Dushyas like Rasa, Raktha, Mamsa, Medasand Arthava, resulting in Dhatwagnimandya and the creation of Garbhashaya Granthi.

Vol 1, No 1 (2022): Use of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in the Treatment of Pediatric Pain
Authors: Priya Sharma, Anil Gupta
Abstract: Children experience severe pain, and many suffer from persistent pain. Because of their different maturation pathways than adults, babies and youngsters may be more vulnerable to chronic pain sensitivities. Acute and chronic pain must be addressed in order to alleviate children's suffering and avoid possible pain problems. In accordance with a biopsychosis viewpoint, full and complementary (CAM) treatment should be considered in the management of acute and chronic child pain. Although the data on paediatric pain is limited, hypnosis, acupuncture, and music therapy are the most effective therapies. The therapeutic benefits of yoga, massages, humour therapy, and the usage of physiologically based therapies are also demonstrated.

Vol 1, No 1 (2022): Ayurvedic Approaches to the Treatment of Intrauterine Growth Restriction
Authors:-Dr. Abhimanyu Varshney, Vijay Charan Tripathy, Amit Sehgal
Abstract: Antenatal care is essential for the mother's and growing foetus's health during pregnancy. Proper weight increase is a sign of a good pregnancy since it has a direct impact on the weight of the baby, i.e. neonatal birth weight. Pregnancy problems include both excessive and insufficient weight gain. There is a risk of foetal development limitation with minimal weight gain, thus focus on serious issues. Serial fundal height measurement, USG, biophysical profile, ponderal index, and other methods are used to identify IUGR weight growth and accompanying symptoms. During pregnancy, women require more nourishment or supplements to ensure the normal development of the growing baby. Obstetricians nowadays recommend iron-calcium-folic acid supplements. This ailment was defined as "Upvistaka Garbhavyapad" in Ayurveda thousands of years ago, and its treatment is clearly recorded. To avoid this strange condition, pregnant women should follow the Ayurvedic regimen.
