Abstract

Pregnancy is a natural physiological event that requires proper physical, mental, and emotional preparedness. Ayurveda describes the concept of Sukha Prasava—an easy and smooth delivery—achieved through specific regimens and yogic practices. SukhaPrasava Yoga is a comprehensive approach that includes selected postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle modifications to prepare the body for effortless childbirth. This paper explores the Ayurvedic understanding, principles, and physiological mechanisms behind SukhaPrasava Yoga, its integration into prenatal care, and its impact on maternal and fetal outcomes. Classical references from Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, and Kashyapa Samhita are correlated with modern clinical evidence highlighting yoga’s role in reducing labor duration, improving uterine efficiency, and enhancing maternal comfort. The findings suggest that SukhaPrasava Yoga serves as a safe, natural, and holistic method for promoting easy delivery and overall maternal well-being.
