Abstract

Abstract: The preservation of ancient knowledge and traditions plays a vital role in shaping the cultural and intellectual landscape of a society. In this context, the role of Sanskrit in preserving the Samhita and Shiddhanta traditions is pivotal. The Samhita refers to the foundational texts of various disciplines such as Ayurveda, Vedic studies, and astrology, while Shiddhanta encompasses the principles and methodologies followed in these disciplines. The Sanskrit language, as a medium of these texts, has acted as a conduit for transmitting profound knowledge from generation to generation. This paper explores the significance of Sanskrit in safeguarding these traditions, delving into its linguistic, cultural, and philosophical contributions to the preservation of ancient wisdom.
