Abstract


Climate change poses an unprecedented threat to global infrastructure systems, affecting energy networks, transportation corridors, water supply systems, and urban settlements. Rising temperatures, sea-level rise, and extreme weather events are intensifying the vulnerabilities of built environments, thereby challenging the functionality, safety, and longevity of critical infrastructure. This paper examines the multidimensional aspects of infrastructure resilience under climate change, focusing on risk assessment, adaptation strategies, technological enablers, and governance mechanisms. It highlights the necessity of integrating resilience-based design principles, data-driven modeling, and ecosystem-based adaptation into infrastructure planning. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the role of policy coherence, community participation, and digital innovation in strengthening adaptive capacity for sustainable development.
