Pharmacology of Glucose Oxidase Produced by Fungi- Comprehensive Review

Dr. S. Sreeremya

Abstract

Filamentous fungi are known to mainly grow in different environments like
organic waste, soil, plant cell material etc. To obtain the nutrients, fungi
avails many organic compounds with the aid of various bioenzymes it
produce. Glucose-1-oxidase (GOX) (?-D-glucose: oxygen-1- oxidoreductase,
EC 1.1.3.4) is an all-around portrayed enzyme, organisms like Penicillium sp,
Aspergillus sp has the ability to synthesize the glucose oxidase (GOD).

KEYWORDS: ?-D-glucose, oxygen-1- oxidoreductase, glucose oxidase
(GOD), Penicillium sp, Aspergillus sp
