Integrating Pathology with Vaccination Programs in Communicable Disease Control

Nivedita S. Kulkarni

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Vaccination is a pillar of communicable disease prevention. However, successful immunization programs require ongoing pathological assessment to measure vaccine efficacy, monitor adverse reactions, and detect outbreaks. This paper discusses how pathology aids in validating immunization success through serological surveillance and antigen detection. Real-world examples, such as polio and measles eradication campaigns, demonstrate how pathologyinformed strategies result in measurable public health benefits. By combining lab testing with mobile health initiatives, particularly in rural areas, nations can ensure more comprehensive coverage. The study argues for a more tightly knit collaboration between pathologists and immunization campaign planners to enhance preventive medicine outcomes.
